Dark Academia Portrait Session in Rancho Palos Verdes

Social Media Portrait Session in Los Angeles

Elizabeth’s inspiration for this creative portrait photoshoot was dark academia, a gothic- and literature-influenced aesthetic, and the Malaga Cove area of Rancho Palos Verdes was the perfect location to make this theme shine.

We casually explored the little alleyways and stairwells of Malaga Cove Plaza and a local church in Rancho Palos Verdes, stopping for photos anywhere that looked particularly picturesque. Toward sunset, we found our way to the beach at Malaga Cove and ended our session with a few final images during blue hour (the minutes just after sunset).

As a photographer, portrait sessions like these are always such a joy and a reset for my creativity. I love the flow—it genuinely just feels like we’re friends hanging out for an hour in the afternoon, and I find that the time and space gives me the freedom to find compositions and lighting that inspires me.

Testimonial from Elizabeth

“I recently booked a social media session with Pamela and she went above and beyond my expectations and I am absolutely obsessed with the pictures she took! It was so easy to communicate with her about what I wanted, and I loved how invested she was in making sure my vision came to life! She has a great eye for locations and I instantly felt at ease with her during the shoot, which made my experience and photos even better than I could have imagined! She also sent the photos in a very short turnaround and they were organized by location, which I really appreciate. Whether you are doing the social media package, getting headshots or weddings, you will definitely be happy with your results!” (Google Review)
