Lindsay and David’s spring wedding at the University Club of Pasadena truly embodied everything that’s best about weddings in Southern California: warm spring light, historic architecture, colorful florals, and a celebration deeply centered around family. Their outdoor ceremony in the venue’s garden courtyard felt effortlessly romantic and modern. These two share such a fun, genuine chemistry, and their day reflected exactly that.

A Garden Party Ceremony in the University Club of Pasadena Courtyard
The wedding ceremony took place outdoors in the University Club’s courtyard. Their bridesmaids wore eucalyptus tones, their groomsmen wore classic black suits, and the beautiful floral pops of color perfectly captured their “garden party” dress code. Their planner, Sarah from Kindred Weddings and Events, and florist, The Little Branch, created an elevated yet playful floral palette with texture-rich arrangements that felt fresh and modern without overpowering the classic architecture.
Portraits, Golden Hour, and an Indoor Reception
After the ceremony, we slipped away into the surrounding neighborhood for golden hour portraits, before returning for a fun reception filled with heartfelt speeches, SusieCakes cupcakes, and an amazing dance floor. The University Club of Pasadena’s rich wood interiors and warm lighting created a cozy, inviting atmosphere.
University Club of Pasadena Wedding FAQs
Is the University Club of Pasadena a good venue for outdoor ceremonies?
Yes, it is! The courtyard is intimate, beautifully landscaped, and gets flattering natural light most of the day. And in case of rain, the ballroom (where the reception takes place) is a beautiful indoor alternative.
Where can couples take portraits nearby?
The University Club of Pasadena is only a five minute walk from Pasadena City Hall. So if it works into your wedding timeline, you could head over there for your wedding party and newlywed portraits. On Lindsay and David’s day, we didn’t want to go too far from the party, so we took our pictures in the green spaces just outside of the building.
