J & R’s October La Venta Inn wedding was the kind of day that perfectly captured why this venue is one of the most beloved in Palos Verdes. With blue skies stretching across the coast and the ocean sparkling just beyond the ceremony lawn, the California coastal charm of La Venta Inn created an unforgettable backdrop for their vows.

J & R’s Proposal Story

The couple first met through work, and their relationship grew naturally out of friendship. When it came time to propose, R kept things just as meaningful and private as their love itself: he asked J to marry him on a walk along their favorite beach, away from the crowds, and then surprised her with an intimate engagement party at home with family and friends. Their wedding day carried that same sense of intimacy and thoughtfulness.

A Coastal Ceremony Overlooking the Pacific

The ceremony was held on La Venta Inn’s ocean-view lawn, with guests gathered in front of sweeping coastal vistas. The couple exchanged vows surrounded by black-tie elegance, classic white and green florals, and the warmth of the California sun. As cocktail hour began by the fountain, guests mingled in the historic courtyard while we prepared for portraits.

Golden hour at La Venta Inn is truly magical, and J & R embraced it fully. Their portraits glowed with warm coastal light, set against the inn’s Spanish-style architecture and views of the Pacific.
