Wedding at Twin Oaks House and Gardens in San Marcos, California
Alexis and Aaron’s heartfelt Twin Oaks House and Gardens wedding was equal parts family oriented, ethereal, and nerdy—all in the best way possible.
As a huge Tolkien fan, my initial meeting with Alexis and Aaron about their Lord of the Rings-themed wedding at one of my favorite San Diego area wedding venues was what I’d call a dream inquiry. To top it off, Alexis and Aaron are two of the kindest humans I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet, and spending the day with them was a privilege.
As their wedding day began, Alexis and Aaron arrived at Twin Oaks House separately. Alexis got ready in the grand parlor, surrounded by restored turn-of-the-century furnishings and large, romantic mirrors, and Aaron dressed in the gentleman’s clubhouse.
Twin Oaks House feels like a secret garden and is filled with little green nooks and picturesque spaces, and taking portraits there is a photographer’s dream. Alexis and Aaron shared their first look and private vows in front of a small greenhouse tucked in a corner of the wedding venue.
After saying their “I dos” in the historic garden, the couple was free to enjoy cocktail hour with their guests, as they had gotten their family formals and wedding party portraits done before the ceremony (one of the perks of having a first look ahead of the wedding ceremony).
The party was a roaring success, with the bride’s father giving his wedding speech dressed as Gandalf and a dance party that never saw an empty dance floor.
Alexis and Aaron’s wedding was a joy for me to capture, from beginning to end. These are some of my favorites from their Twin Oaks House and Gardens wedding day.
