Samantha and Solange’s gorgeous spring wedding at Tom Ham’s Lighthouse was coastal elegance through and through.
Ever since meeting Sam and Solange for their Coronado Island engagement session, I was counting the days until their wedding. They are warm, charming, and fun people all around, who both individually light up any room they’re in and together are unstoppable.
The day started at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel, where Samantha and Solange got ready for the wedding on separate floors with their wedding party. We photographed them in the beautiful, light-filled rooms overlooking the San Diego harbor, as well as taking some more editorial, fashion-inspired portraits of both brides in the hallways and elevators of the hotel.
In the garden courtyard behind the Sheraton, the couple shared a private first look before being joined by their family and wedding party for group photos.
Meanwhile, five minutes away, guests began to gather at Tom Ham’s Lighthouse, a wedding venue that, after hosting weddings for almost half a century, is a San Diego institution. Nestled along the waterfront with breathtaking views of the San Diego Skyline, Tom Ham’s Lighthouse is one of San Diego’s most picturesque wedding venues. Its elegant charm and coastal ambiance perfectly matched the couple’s aesthetic.
Officiant Donna, who specializes in LGBTQ+ weddings in the San Diego area, led a beautiful ceremony for Sam and Solange, and the couple not only exchanged rings but shared a shot together before being declared wives.
In the soft glow of golden hour, and still in their giddy post-wedding ceremony feelings, we explored the grounds of Tom Ham’s Lighthouse and took portraits of the happy newlyweds. Samantha stunned in a lace, off-the-shoulder gown designed by Enzoani, and Solange looked incredible in her custom suit by designer Duchess Clothier. Samantha’s bouquet was filled with roses in white with blush tones.
The wedding reception at Tom Ham’s Lighthouse was elegant, and tasteful, with more blush and white toned flowers and linens filling the room and a classy white cake from Babycakes San Diego decorated with a “Mrs and Mrs” cake topper.
During the party that ensued, Samantha changed into a fun, slinky silk dress with tassels, and the guests danced the night away.
