A Romantic Wedding at The 1909 in Topanga Canyon | Taylor + Jacob
Taylor and Jacob’s wedding at The 1909 in Topanga Canyon was that perfect blend of natural beauty, heartfelt moments, and dreamy romance, captured on a mix of digital and vintage film cameras.
Why The 1909 in Topanga Canyon is a Dream Wedding Venue
Tucked away in the scenic heart of Topanga Canyon, The 1909 feels like a secret woodland retreat just minutes from Los Angeles. The venue features lush greenery, multilevel event spaces, and a cozy, organic atmosphere perfect for couples wanting an outdoor wedding with a touch of elegance. The towering oak trees, secret pathways, and rustic-modern architecture create endless backdrops for romantic wedding photography.
Taylor and Jacob’s Wedding Day at The 1909
Taylor and Jacob chose The 1909 for its natural beauty and secluded feel. They began their wedding day on separate floors of the venue’s main building—Jacob upstairs with his wedding party and Taylor downstairs with her closest friends.
Instead of a first look, the two opted for a first touch—one of my favorite alternatives for couples wanting to preserve the magic of the aisle moment but still have a private moment to themselves before the rush of the wedding. Standing on either side of the venue’s front door, they exchanged heartfelt words and gifts without seeing each other.

An Outdoor Ceremony Beneath the Trees
The ceremony unfolded on The 1909’s wooden deck, embraced by a canopy of trees. As golden light filtered through the leaves above, Taylor and Jacob said their vows before family and friends in a deeply personal ceremony that honored the journey they’ve shared.
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a relaxed cocktail hour in The 1909’s lush outdoor spaces. Meanwhile, the couple snuck away for their wedding portraits.
A Magical Reception Under the Stars at The 1909
As twilight fell, the celebration transitioned seamlessly into The 1909’s reception space, aglow with twinkling string lights. Guests dined under the stars, shared heartfelt toasts, and witnessed Taylor and Jacob’s first dance as a married couple.
Later in the evening, the party moved indoors, where everyone danced the night away—a perfect ending to a perfect day in Topanga Canyon.
