Joanna and Sean’s backyard wedding in Southern California was a laid-back, intentional celebration of new beginnings—marriage, homeownership, all the grown-up things. They celebrated with their loved ones in the very house they had just purchased together for themselves and their two sweet dogs. The whole day felt like an honest, joyful reflection of who they are as a couple.
Backyard weddings have a kind of magic that’s hard to replicate—the total freedom to make the day your own, and making memories in your own home, creates an extra sense of connectedness.
From their ceremony in the front yard, to slipping away to a local hiking trail for portraits, to dinner served by a burger and pie truck and a garage-turned-dance-floor complete with a disco ball, the day was their own—unpretentious and full of heart.
